Learn, Sip & Cheers at the Jersey Boys-Inspired Cocktail Class

Venture into the artistry of cocktail creations. Our Jersey Boys-Inspired class will help you serve up something delicious, whether you’re a first-timer or a home-bartender extraordinaire.

Take your Jersey Boys show experience to the next level by adding a craft cocktail class led by the professional bar staff from Maxine’s Tap Room who will teach participants how to mix two classic craft cocktails straight out of the ‘60s! While it might not transform you into a master mixologist, you will learn tips and tricks of the trade.

Shaken or stirred? Is there a formula for making good cocktails? How long does vermouth last?

Join bar manager and craft cocktail expert Steven Idlet, as he talks a bit about the history of these famous cocktails and shares how to make a truly satisfying cocktail sure to be a hit with you and your friends! Class will be interactive with participants having a chance to mix their own drinks. All supplies will be provided for the class, and you’ll leave with two cocktails that you have made and a memorable pre-show experience - all for just $30.

We asked craft cocktail expert Steven Idlet a few questions about the class and here are his responses below:

How is this class inspired by Jersey Boys?

- The 1960’s was an era for classic cocktails like the Manhattan and Sidecar. A time when bartenders used fresh juice and better ingredients instead of sour mix and cheap ingredients.

Why should patrons add-on this experience to the show?

- Patrons should add on this experience to take a peak into the world of classic cocktails. It might open up a whole new way to imbibe for them.

What makes a cocktail class setting so special- versus getting drinks before the show?

- This cocktail class will be a great way for patrons to grab a couple drinks before the show and also show people how easy it is to make a couple of delicious drinks on their own.

What are some tips or tricks you'll share with attendants?

- I’ll be sharing some knowledge about the spirits we’re working with (whiskey, vermouth, cognac, and Cointreau) as well as the proper techniques to shake and stir a cocktail.

Why are you excited to participate?

- I’m excited to hopefully get people to try different drinks than they might normally have. There’s nothing wrong with vodka sodas and whiskey cokes but there’s also so much more out there to try!

If you could give one final invite to patrons, what would you say to encourage them to Attend?

- This class is going to be very relaxed, low key and fun. I don’t want anyone to feel nervous or uptight about making these “fancy” drinks. I want everyone to laugh, loosen up and have a great time before taking in the show.
